Dear Game Lover, Here´s a little bit about Mindputty and its humble stay-at-home-mom beginnings: Mindputty was borne out of my desire one March to provide for families what the retail market had (so far) not: a fun, festive, low-key way to celebrate St. Patrick´s Day with my two young children. I wanted something to do with my kids on St. Patrick´s Day that didn´t involve putting several hours towards a project that might end up being enjoyed for just ten minutes. (We parents all know how that goes!). When I went to party stores, I was hard pressed to find novelties that didn’t pertain to cheap throw-away plastics, the celebration of drunken adults, or slightly creepy leprechauns. I next turned to the internet for inspiration. I found lots of do-it-yourself suggestions at various sites, of course, but many of them involved more time then I wanted to invest. One suggestion that kept
reoccurring at various sites was “go
outside and hunt for real four-leaf-clovers.” Well,
that sounded awesome! Hum...a
great activity that was active, fun, and
traditional. The only problem was I couldn´t
recall one single time in my 30+ years
of living in California when I ever came
across a clover patch that was large enough
for a hunt, let alone contained any 4-leaf
clovers. Then it hit me—I could
create a clover patch with green paper,
scissors, and a couple of clover templates. Lucky Leaf Clovers still remains one of my favorite games, and has renewed my excitement about St. Patrick’s Day. This ‘green’ holiday is already filled with elements that children love: fantasy, myth, magic, treasure, and beauty. An artistically designed clover-themed card game provides the perfect low-cost medium for children to engage with these whimsical elements. I hope you will consider adding this game to your personal collection —or consider gifting it to your children’s preschool or kindergarten teacher. Lucky Leaf Clovers makes a great addition to a teacher´s thematic ‘arsenal’. I am so glad you are visiting my site. I have strived to make products that are fun, engaging, artistic, and even educational. As a mom who has stayed at home for the last six years, this is a very exciting venture for me. I say silly can be smart! Warmly, Founder and Creator of Mindputty
